Parking for the Cooper Building is accessible to the public from McDowell Street, in the parking deck on the right just beyond the Cooper Building. The entrance to the Cooper Building faces McDowell Street (east).

From the West and Northwest via I-40 East, or via US 70 East

Via I-40 East:
1) Take I-40 East to Raleigh;
2) From I-40, take Exit 289 to Wade Ave.;
3) As Wade Ave. ends at Capital Blvd., exit right onto Capital Blvd., south, to downtown. (Capital Blvd. will become Dawson St.);
4) Merge into the left lane and continue just around the curve to the second stoplight (Dawson and Jones Streets);
5) Turn left onto Jones St.;
6) Travel one block on Jones St., then turn left onto McDowell St.;
7) Travel one block on McDowell St., just crossing Lane St.—visitor parking is immediately to your right in the parking deck;
8) To get to the Cooper Bldg., walk back out of the parking deck and turn left on McDowell St.—cross Lane St. again, and the Cooper Bldg. is on your right, facing McDowell.

Via US 70 East:
1) Take US 70 East to Raleigh—US 70 will become Glenwood Ave.
2) Continue on Glenwood Ave., crossing Wade Ave. and exiting right onto Wade Ave. east;
3) As Wade Ave. ends at Capital Blvd., exit right onto Capital Blvd., south, to downtown. (Capital Blvd. will become Dawson St.);
4) Merge into the left lane and continue just around the curve to the second stoplight (Dawson and Jones Streets);
5) Turn left onto Jones St.;
6) Travel one block on Jones St., then turn left onto McDowell St.;
7) Travel one block on McDowell St., just crossing Lane St.—visitor parking is immediately to your right in the parking deck;
8) To get to the Cooper Bldg., walk back out of the parking deck and turn left on McDowell St.—cross Lane St. again, and the Cooper Bldg. is on your right, facing McDowell.

From Northeast via US 64 West, or via US 1 South-US 401 South

Via US 64 West:
1) Take US 64 West to Raleigh;
2) Continue into town on New Bern Ave.—inbound New Bern Ave. will become Edenton St.;
3) Continue on Edenton to the intersection of Edenton and McDowell Streets, and turn right onto McDowell St.;
4) On McDowell St., go two blocks, just crossing Lane St.—visitor parking is on your right in the parking deck;
5) To get to the Cooper Bldg., walk back out of the parking deck and turn left on McDowell St.—cross Lane St. again, and the Cooper Bldg. is on your right, facing McDowell.

Via US 1 South-US 401 South:
1) Take US 1-US 401 South to Raleigh—US 401 will become Capital Blvd.;
2) Continue into Raleigh on Capital Blvd., south, moving to the left lane as you get closer to downtown—Capital Blvd. will become Dawson St.;
3) Continue on Dawson to the second stoplight—Jones St.—and turn left onto Jones St.;
4) On Jones St., go one block, then turn left onto McDowell St.;
5) On McDowell St., go one block, just crossing Lane St. Visitor parking is on your right, in the parking deck;
6) To get to the Cooper Bldg., walk back out of the parking deck and turn left on McDowell St.—cross Lane St. again, and the Cooper Bldg. is on your right, facing McDowell.

From East and Southeast via I-40 West, or via US 70 West

Via US 70 West:
1) Take US 70 West to Raleigh—US 70 merges with US 401 North;
2) Continue on US 70 West-US 401 North, which will become South Saunders St.;
3) Stay on South Saunders St., staying to the right, so that you can bear right onto McDowell St.;
4) Continue on McDowell, just crossing Lane St. Visitor parking is on your right, in the parking deck;
5) To get to the Cooper Bldg., walk back out of the parking deck and turn left on McDowell St.—cross Lane St. again, and the Cooper Bldg. is on your right, facing McDowell.

Via I-40 West:
1) Take I-40 West to Raleigh;
2) Continue on I-40 West when it joins I-440, and go to the South Saunders Street exit—exit right, onto S. Saunders St.;
3) Take South Saunders St. to downtown—stay to the right, so that you can bear right onto McDowell St.;
4) Continue on McDowell until you just cross Lane St. Visitor parking is on your right, in the parking deck;
5) To get to the Cooper Bldg., walk back out of the parking deck and turn left on McDowell St.—cross Lane St. again, and the Cooper Bldg. is on your right, facing McDowell.

From South and Southwest via US 1 North-US 64 East, or via US 401 North

Via US 1 North-US 64 East:
1) Take US 1 North-US 64 East to Raleigh and I-40 East;
2) “Exit” onto I-40 East, then go to and take the South Saunders Street exit;
3) On South Saunders Street, go toward downtown—stay to the right, so that you can bear right onto McDowell St.;
4) Continue on McDowell until you just cross Lane St. Visitor parking is on your right, in the parking deck;
5) To get to the Cooper Bldg., walk back out of the parking deck and turn left on McDowell St.—cross Lane St. again, and the Cooper Bldg. is on your right, facing McDowell.

Via US 401 North:
1) Take US 401 North to Raleigh;
2) Continue into Raleigh on US 401 North, which merges with US 70 West and becomes South Saunders St.;
3) On South Saunders St., stay to the right, so that you can bear right onto McDowell St.;
4) Continue on McDowell until you just cross Lane St. Visitor parking is on your right, in the parking deck;
5) To get to the Cooper Bldg., walk back out of the parking deck and turn left on McDowell St.—cross Lane St. again, and the Cooper Bldg. is on your right, facing McDowell.
