From Wilksboro via US 421 North

1) Take US 421 North from Wilkesboro, toward Boone;
2) Go under the Blue Ridge Parkway overpass, then watch on your right for US 221 North, to Jefferson;
3) Take US 221 North for approx. 12 miles;
4) Then go through the 1st stoplight and take the next road to the left (Mt. Jefferson Rd.—the road sign may be missing—just past Blue Ridge Electric, which is on the right just before you turn left);
5) Follow this road to the stop sign, then make a right turn onto the 4-lane road, South Main St.;
6) Travel approx. .3 of a mile, watching on the left for McConnell St (on the right will be an Ashe Co. Health Dept. sign);
7) Turn left onto McConnell St.;
8) The Health Department is at 413 McConnell St., on the right at the top of the hill.
